Styling Your Wig & Hair Piece Extensions
Many people find that the overall length of the wig might be fine but maybe the fringe is too long. This is best remedied by cutting it to suit while you are wearing it. Take a small section at a time, with a comb and cut in short snips to gauge the length as you go along. This avoids cutting too much and then regretting it. Any stray or loose bits can then be trimmed to complete the job. The overall length of the wig can also be cut to whatever length is preferred. This is really only advisable when the wig is anyway getting towards the end of its good life and can add weeks if the ends are becoming a bit tatty. Either enlist the help of a friend or hairdresser or, if you are confident to do it yourself, place the wig on a mannequin or wig stand and then cut it section by section to the required length. Many other ways of styling your fun party wigs and hair piece extensions can also be employed. As with your own natural hair, it is very effective to use headbands, clips, bandanas and scrunchies. Also, if the hair is long enough, it can be tied back or even put up. If it is an up-do you require, make sure that you choose a loose and relaxed style so that the under edge of the cap does not show. As with everything, experimentation and practise is the order of the day! |
